What is the case about?
On February 4, 2011, an action was filed against Defendant SecureWatch on behalf of the named Plaintiff Nathan Steele and all other similarly-situated individuals in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.
Plaintiff was employed by SecureWatch as a technician. The action alleges that SecureWatch violated the Fair Labor Standards Act by misclassifying Plaintiff and other similarly-situated employees as independant contractors, and not paying them overtime compensation and minimum wages.
Plaintiff believes that he and all other similarly-situated individuals are entitled to recover from SecureWatch unpaid overtime compensation, minimum wages, liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees and costs.
Am I part of the class?
Plaintiff seeks to sue on behalf of himself and also on behalf of other employees with whom he is similarly situated. Plaintiff alleges that those individuals consist of current and former technicians of SecureWatch at any time within the last two years.

It is important that you return the Consent Form as soon as possible because the time period for which you can seek a payment for your unpaid wages and overtime compensation will depend on when this form is filed with the Court.
What about retaliation?
The law prohibits SecureWatch, or any of its agents or employees, to discharge, or in any manner harass, discriminate or retaliate against you for taking part in this action. If you believe that you have been retaliated against for participating in this action, contact us immediately. You may be able to assert additional claims against SecureWatch.
Do I have to pay anything?
You do not have to pay anything to our firm if you join the action. We are handling this case on a contingency basis. This means we will only be paid if the action is successful in obtaining a recovery for you, and that payment will only come out of that recovery.
